She was predeceased by: her parents, William Wurtzler and Mildred Wurtzler (Grubbs); her former husband Frederick Waters Sr.; and her brother William Wurtzler. She is survived by: her husband Bernard Pendergast; her children, Sherry Smith (Brian), Kimberly Davis (Stephen), Frederick Waters Jr. (Danielle) and Melanie Kavalchek (Kenneth); her sisters, Millie Godbey (Victor) and Joyce Rimstidt (Roger); and her sister-in-law Lillie Wurtzler. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, in memory of Catherine Waters Pendergast.
