She was predeceased by: her parents, Irvin Carpenter and Florence Carpenter (Clift); her sister Patsy Froelich; and her parents-in-law, John and Helen Van Fossen.

She is survived by: her husband John; her children, Peggy Cross (David), Barbara Scarito, Dennis Van Fossen Sr. (Angela) and Sherri Lewis (Michael); her grandchildren, Dean Jr. (Emily), Nicole (Marty), Ashley (Mike), Dennis Jr. (Emily), Nicholas (Courtney), Andrew (Jessica), Kaitlyn (Luke), Logan (Ashley) and Kayla; her great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Lennan, Jamison, Reid, Kinsley and Ellis; her brother Irvin Carpenter Jr. (Bonnie); and her siblings-in-law, Larry, Joyce Van Fossen, Donald Van Fossen and Tom Froelich.
