He was predeceased by: his brother Ernie Wathey. He is survived by: his wife Dolores; his sister Betty Rader; his children, Linda Ashcraft, Ben Wathey (Debbie) and Joe Wathey (Erica); his grandsons, Brandon Wathey and Todd Ashcraft; and his great grandchild Walter Wathey.
