He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Metzgar and Ethel Vanderhoof Metzgar; his wife Mary Beth Hammond; his siblings, Ronald Metzgar, Walter Eugene Metzgar and Barbara McPherson; and his stepmother Betty Metzgar.
He is survived by: his daughter Jacqueline D. "Jackie" Metzgar of Akron, OH; his siblings, Charles Metzgar (Karen) of Titusville, Carolyn Blair of Elizabeth, WV and Roseanne Armstrong (Rick) of Parkersburg, WV; and his sister-in-law Margaret Metzgar of Erie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
