He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Cathy Scherer; his siblings, Clarence Freddie Scherer, Linda Kelley (late Frank), Phyllis Scherer, Rosemary Johnson (Tim) and Ocie Scherer; his nieces and nephews, Frank Jr., Susan, Jessie, Tiffany, Chris, Christina and Jeremy; and his children, Buffy, Bitty and Harley.
The family suggests memorial donations be made in Melvin's name to the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.
