He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret "Peg" Chismar; his children, Sandra Trapnell and David Chismar; his daughter-in-law Dana; his grandson Jason Trapnell; and his siblings, Betty Wilbond, Eileen Blanko, Jean Cowley, Jim Chismar, William Gunning and Raymond Chismar.
He is survived by: his children, Don Jr. Chismar (Elaine) of Grafton, Douglas Chismar (Deb) of Parma, Diana Folmer of Brooklyn, Susan Trapnell of Tampa and Cathy Walker (Bob) of Port St. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
