He was predeceased by: his father Walter Smolen; and his grandson Anthony. He is survived by: his wife Alicia Smolen; his children, Jeannette Farfan (Greg Czaplicki), Tom Torres (Lisa), Anissa Hansen (Todd) and Annette Mann (John); his grandchildren, Marissa, Tyler Torres, Michael Jarzynksi, Acadia Brooks (Stephen), Timothy, Anika Hansen, Nathaniel, Christopher, Andrew and Brittanie Deka; and his brother Kenneth Smolen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
