He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Smith and Sarah Smith; and his sibling Jan. He is survived by: his spouse Loreen Smith; his children, Shawn, James Jr. (Melissa), Walter (Anna) and Nichole Browand (Tim); and his siblings, Brenda, Marion, Walter and Diane.

Masks are required for the entire duration of services, and social distancing must be utilized at all times.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James' name are suggested to the American Legion Post 91, 91 American Legion Pkwy., Berea, OH 44017.
