He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Vilis Briedis and Lidija Briedis; his spouse Ausma Briedis; his daughters, Irene LeSueur and Laura Tomko (Kenny); his grandsons, Sam, Alex and Joe; his siblings, Maruta Hazners and Ina Bert; and his brother-in-law Archie Caune (Erika).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Imants' name are suggested to the United Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cleveland.
