He was predeceased by: his wife Susan; his daughter Dianne; and his siblings, Marian, Laura and Richard.

He is survived by: his children, Joyce Ames (late Jimmy) and Donald Prokop Jr. (Terry); and his brother Carl. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
