He was predeceased by: his father Charles Matthes; and his brother Edward Matthes. He is survived by: his children, Tara Billinghurst (Michael), Michael Matthes (Nadya) and Laike Matthes; and his siblings, Joseph Matthes (LuAnn), Donald James Matthes (Loren) and Charlene Matthes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
