He was predeceased by: his parents, William Peteritis and Gloria Hosler Peteritis; his son Brian; and his brother William. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Zucas Peteritis; his children, Amanda Cherosky (Richard) of Austintown and Adam Peteritis (Renee); his grandson Joshua of Beijing, China; his siblings, Gary Peteritis (Michelle), Christopher Peteritis (Stephenie), Sheri Smith, Phyllis Sudik (Joseph), Karen Carbone (Michael) and Wendy Gadd (Clay); and his sister-in-law Sharon Safranek. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
