He was predeceased by: his parents, George Bortmas and Esther McNeely Bortmas; his son David Joseph Bortmas; and his brother Douglas Bortmas. He is survived by: his wife Denise June Kane Bortmas; his children, Steven J. Bortmas of Niles, Erin Grace Bortmas of Niles, Joy Elizabeth Bortmas of McDonald, Hanna Larrisa Bortmas of Virginia and Kattie Ann Lynn (Doug) of Warren; his siblings, Darrell Bortmas, Donna Heldreth (Bill) and Diane Keller (Jerry); and his grandchildren, Nora Lynn, Seth Lynn, Jackson Bortmas and Sam Sferra.
