He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Eugene and Edith Mildred Lawson Sr. (Holt); his grandparents, Ottis and Lela Brewer Holt; his stepfather Rudy Roodhouse; his uncle Edward; and his half-brother David Lawson.
He is survived by: his aunt Joan Bullock (Richard) of Cary; and his cousins, James Holt, Lisa Theiss, Lynn Kittel and Bruce Bullock.
