He is survived by: his children, Chris Shafer Sr. (Tami), Melia Roth (Jerry) and Katelyn Brown (Kevin); his sister Shanda Gates (John); his stepfather Jim Bates; and his grandson Christopher Shafer Jr. (Leeanne).
