He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Sumpter (Bud) and Virginia Sumpter (Simmons). He is survived by: his daughter Ashley Sumpter; his siblings, Jo Beth (Richard Gibbs) and Dan Sumpter; and his niece Courtney Banks (Gibbs).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the James Funeral Home Inc. (8 E Broad St, Newton Falls, OH 44444). The military honors was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 6:00 PM at the James Funeral Home (8 E Broad St, Newton Falls, OH 44444).
