He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Bert" Gardner and Helen Lucinda Gardner (Weingarth); his former wife Mildred V. Gardner (Peeper); his wife Phyllis Yvonne Dickey (Pool); his brothers, John R., Clifford G., Glenn E. and Donald H. Gardner; and his stepchildren, David Dickinson and Laura Casteel.
He is survived by: his family Gardner Lumber; his siblings, Faye Tharp, Harvey Gardner and Richard Gardner; his stepchildren, Carol Estell (Bill), Mary Dunfee, Fred Dickinson, Diana Phillips (Ron), Karol Vosick, Keith Dickey (Sharon), Kathy Bresseur (Vic) and Kris Dickey (Sabrina); and his stepchildren-in-law, Joan Dickinson and John Casteel. He is also survived by many step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
