He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Van Fossen and Ocie Bendure (McClintock); his wife Janet Van Fossen; his stepfather John R. Bendure; his brother Earl Van Fossen; and his son John Van Fossen.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Van Fossen, Jr. (Tami) of Belmont, Carol Fulton (Jerry) of Centerville, Virginia Van Fossen of St. Clairsville and Misty Ross (Josh) of Newcomerstown; his stepchildren, Ray Turner of Belmont, Jay Turner (Lisa) of Piedmont and Joy Boyd (Randy) of Belmont; his grandchildren, Donald Paul Van Fossen, Kristen Singer (Jamie), Jenna Trigg, James Phillips, Katelyn Boyd, Jake Boyd, Alexis Ross, Charles Hall Jr., Brooklynn Hall, Khloe Ross, Jaysen Turner and Chelsea Turner; and his stepgrandson Cody Groves. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home (322 N Main St, Bethesda, OH 43719). The military honors was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at the Rock Hill Cemetery.
