He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia; his son Matthew; his sister Kathleen Krizner (John); and his parents, John Brent and Rosemary Brent.

He is survived by: his children, Dave (Beth), Jake (Kerri), Pete (Nicole), Pat (Lori), Tony (Katy), Sarah Sustin (Dan) and Amanda Novak (David); and his brothers, Brian (Bette), Tim (Cathy) and Terry (Joy). He is also survived by twenty seven grandchildren.
