With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell Wade Hammond of Newark, Ohio, born in Zanesville, Ohio, who passed away on August 5, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Stanley and Rose Hammond (Williams); his daughter Holly Mae Hammond; and his brothers, Thomas Hammond (Helen), William Hammond (Genoah), Patrick Hammond and Michael Hammond (Linda).
He is survived by: his wife Marcella Hammond (Kissick); his children, Steve Hammond (Cynthia), Daniel Hammond, Julia Mann (Doug), Bernard Hammond (Karen), Damian Hammond (Karen) and Amy Reitter (Patrick); and his grandchildren, Jade Howard, Wesley Sims, Melissa Laughery, Steven Hammond, Daniel Hammond, Lauren Hammond, Megann Rowley, Devinn Mann, Bryce Hammond, Evan Hammond, Ethan Hammond, Logan Reitter and Peyton Reitter. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Wade's name to St. Vincent de Paul.
