He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Ray Smith and Ruth Lenore Maier Smith. He is survived by: his wife Lynne Anne Ranck; his children, Bryan (Mary Lou) and Suzanne Niehaus (Harold); his granddaughter Katelyn Niehaus (Benford Whitaker II); and his sisters, Eula Marlene Williams (Carl) and Elaine Barnes (Jeffrey). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service (59 N 5th St, Newark, OH 43055).
Roger has requested no flowers. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to Lions Disaster at lionsclubs.org.
