With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Nelson Gorley Jr. of Newark, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Randolph and Doris Bernadine Gorley, Sr. (Church); his siblings, Jeffrey Alan Gorley and Sandra Kay Gorley; his daughter-in-law Rhonda Gorley (Kidd); and his siblings-in-law, Marion Nelson (George), Donna Jean Crooks (Rex), Marjorie Hazlett, Kenny Hazlett (Carolyn), Hazel Hinkle (Bill), Paul Hazlett (Sharon) and Burl Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Gorley (Hazlett); his sons, Douglas Gorley (Angela Norris) and Larry Gorley (Danielle); his grandchildren, Amy Gruber (Carl), Samantha Peck, Austin Gorley, Hannah Stollenwerk and Sakara Norris; his nephew Greg Gorley (Brandy); his niece Amanda Archer (Adam Layton); and his siblings-in-law, Nita Harris, Roy Hazlett (Sue), Harold Hazlett (Thelma), Helen Renick (Ray), Barbara Groves (Ronnie) and Polly Desien (Mike). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home (985 N 21st St, Newark, OH 43055). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
