The memory of John Porter Ragon of Newark, Ohio, who passed away on February 16, 2025 at the age of 80, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Ragon and Nora Ragon; his former wife Sharon Lee Ragon; his sisters, Janice Thomas (Larry) and Pamela Griffie (James); and his brother-in-law Jack Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Barb Ragon; his children, Don Ragon (Christine), Chris Ragon (Elizabeth) and Ann Hancock (Shane); his stepchildren, Amy Hurst (Darren) and Mark Rine (Colleen); his grandchildren, Courtney, Lauren (Nolan), Alyssa, Dylan, Caleb (Danielle), Destawny, Adley, Alison (Samuel), Mark, Elizabeth, Samantha, Brooke, Austin, Ralph and Enzo; and his sister Cynthia Gibson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Christian Apostolic Church (22 N 23rd St, Newark, OH 43055). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at the Sackett Cemetery (7724 E Harbor Rd, Lakeside Marblehead, OH 43440).
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of John to the Christian Apostolic Church Building Fund, 22 N. 23rd St., Newark.
