He was predeceased by: his parents, Auburn Puryear, Sr. and Ida Bell Puryear; his sister Etna Faye Puryear; and his siblings-in-law, Cassandra Williams and Roosevelt Crumpton.
He is survived by: his wife Ramona S. Puryear (Collins); his daughters, Shemikka Young (Lloyd III), Amanda Greenwald, Kassidy Puryear, Shaquita Puryear and Mary Miller (Harley); his siblings, Margaret Crumpton, Karen Bowen (Donnie), Curtis Puryear (Virginia), Ralph Puryear and Greg Williams; his granddaughters, Jazmin, Keiley, Lyric, Rhythm and Kitana; and his brothers-in-law, Fred Collins (Tammy) and Ted Collins (Judy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service (179 Granville St, Newark, OH 43055). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home (179 Granville St, Newark, OH 43055).
