He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Leroy and Ruth Eileen Gibbons (Sharp); his son Gary Cole; and his siblings, Evelyn Cohee, Thelma Jean Barber and Roger Gibbons.
He is survived by: his wife Dianna C. Gibbons (Cole); his children, Sherry, Rob Root of Greenville and Rita Karnehm of New Weston; his grandchildren, Tiffany Cole, Tollis Quinn, Chase Quinn, Hunter Root and Christion Paris; and his brothers, Lonnie Gibbons of Colorado and Paul Gibbons of Greenville. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
