He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Ballein and Martha Ballein (Taylor); his son Tom Ballein; and his siblings, Howard, Barb, Mary, Donald, Kenny and Hugh.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Ballein (Sluss); his children, Johnny Ballein (Robin) of Mowrystown, Andrea Claycomb (Mark Conover), Chad Sluss (Melissa) of Lowell, Corey Ballein (Amanda) of Lynchburg, Brian Ballein (Cassi) of Hillsboro and Tim Ballein of New Vienna; and his daughter-in-law Dana Ballein of Washington, C. H.. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; several siblings.
