He was predeceased by: his fathers, Henry Ellis and Forest Ella Darnell (Brown); his wife Margaret Joann "Jo" Darnell; his sons, Lonnie E. and Randall Lee Darnell; his granddaughter Jennifer Darnell; his siblings, William Raymond Darnell and Linda Daubenmire; and his stepbrother Robert Flood.
He is survived by: his daughter Teri Sue Tigner (Doug) of New Straitsville, Ohio; his grandchildren, Tony Darnell of Logan, Jeremy Darnell of Colorado Springs, Kati Tigner of New Straitsville, Randy of New Straitsville, Ricky of New Straitsville and Mary Tigner of New Straitsville; his stepgranddaughter Elizabeth Harmon; and his sister Shirley Roley (Charles) of Logan.
