She was predeceased by : her parents, Samuel and Perlina Hatfield Kimmerly Sr.; her husband Harley "Bugs" Grooms Jr.; and her siblings, Mintie Rogers, Bertha Webb, John Tobias, Charles, Fred, Samuel Jr., Ross and Bob Kimmerly.
She is survived by : her children, Kathy Kennedy (Essie), Gae Berry (Tom), Jeffrey, Jason and Joel Grooms; her grandchildren, Julie Snawder (Ryan), Pam Martin, Jessica Grooms, Gary Martin (Nina), Cassie Kennedy (Gregory Tumbleson), Aundrey and Aaryn Berry; and her siblings, Sally Parsons, Annie Frost, James Kimmerly and Ed Kimmerly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
