He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Thompson and Georgia Mae Polling Thompson; his wife Lula Mae Mace Thompson; his former wife Westina Thompson; and his siblings, Alford, James, Eve, Marge, Helen and Isabelle.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Thompson of New Plymouth, Paul Franklin Thompson of New Plymouth, Marion Thompson (Melissa) of New Plymouth and Anita O'Brien of Albany; his grandchildren, Ginny Richards of New Plymouth, Brandon Thompson of New Plymouth and Trevor Rodgers of New Plymouth; and his great grandchild Willow Creedon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
