She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Carpenter and Harriet Marie Carpenter (Leach); her husband Robert D. Briggs; her siblings, William, Leonard, Clayton, Tom, Dennis, Jake Carpenter, Beulah Henry and Wanda Miller; and her son-in-law Gordon Selden.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Robert Briggs, Jr. (Heidi) of New Philadelphia, Brenda Selden of Bolivar and Lori Noonan (Keith) of Michigan; her grandchildren, Rebecka Santangelo (Steve), April Pittis (Keith), Cortney Goodwin (Joel), Ryan Selden (Kayla), Stacy Rippel (Tyler), Kason Singh (Maliha) and Nina Singh; her great grandchildren, Brandon, Sloan, Boston, Charlie Pittis, Caden Goodwin, Camryn, Kaitlyn Santangelo, Micah and Harper Rippel; her sister Linda Carpenter; and her sisters-in-law, Donna and Marvella Carpenter.
