He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse C. Sherer, Jr. and Delores Ann Sherer Luthy (Williford); his brother-in-law Terry Couch; and his stepson Travis Hunter. He is survived by: his siblings, Catherine M. "Cathie" Leonard, James "Chris" Sherer (Maude), Kim E. Sherer, Pamela M. Couch and Patricia A. "Trish" Ady; his stepmother Mary Sherer; his former wife Donita Sherer; his stepchildren, Amber, Erica, Elizabeth Brown, Lindsey Hershberger (Roman) and Christopher Hunter; his friend Simon Dummermuth (Krystal); and his pet Chance. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
