He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Kandel and Alma Kandel (Sommers); his wife Bonnie Feller; his brothers, Glenn and Durlan Kandel; and his sister-in-law Barb Kandel.
He is survived by: his daughters, Barb Bushong of New Philadelphia and Karen Miller (Jeff) of Lewis Center; his grandchildren, Eve Miller, Nathanael Miller (Amy Elizabeth Uebel) of Alexandria, VA and Nick Miller of Columbus; his great grandchildren, Dylan Clark, Isabella Immel and Justin Immel; his siblings, Clarence Kandel of New Philadelphia, Minnie Riffle (Bruce) of Catalua, GA and Nancy Schneider (Jim) of Dundee; and his sister-in-law Darlene Kandel of Stone Creek. He is also survived by eight nephews, and five nieces.
