With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Harter Swigart of New Philadelphia, Ohio, born in Barberton, Ohio, who passed away on July 23, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ford H., Sr. and Edna Swigart (Harter); his wife Agnes Kauffman; his brother Ford H., Sr.; and his sister-in-law Kaye Swigart.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gwen Nichols (Brian) and Ellen Wolfe (Doug) of Westerville, OH; his grandchildren, Carson Nichols of Orlando, FL, Mabry Nichols, Griffin Wolfe and Bria Wolfe of Westerville; and his nieces and nephews, Kirk Swigart (Jill) of Delaware, Steven Swigart and Dana Kaye Hamilton of Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave., SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663, or Otterbein United Methodist Church, 156 Beaver Ave., NE, New Philadelphia.
