He was predeceased by: his parents, David Burleson and Kathleen Bryant Burleson; and his siblings, Norris, Noren, Norwin "Jeff" Burleson, Irma Brasill and Kathy Burleson.

He is survived by: his wife Terri; his brothers, Norman Burleson of Spartanburg, SC, Norval Burleson (Nancy) and Norlan Burleson; his sons, David Burleson (Ann), Stephen Burleson (Jessica) and Clair Burleson (Harold Merckle); his grandsons, Sean, Jordan, Brandon, Seth and Jaiden; and his great grandchildren, Alio, Dallas and Emmitt.
