He was predeceased by: his parent Benjamin Compton; his wife Ellen J. Compton; his grandson Matthew Ronald Compton; and his siblings, Mary Henderson and Ray Compton.
He is survived by: his parent Rachel Truffitt Compton; his children, Terry Kittell (Dana) of Coshocton, Gary Compton (Kay) of New Philadelphia, Larry "Ike" Compton (Debbie) of Sugarcreek, Jerry "Jud" Compton (Dawna) and Barry "Ed" Compton (Becky); his siblings, Edward Compton of Florida, Thomas Compton (Penny) of Colorado and Jo Claire Callison of Texas; his grandchildren, Kevin Kittell (Tiffany), Jay Kittell (Tracy), Angelica Compton (John Igrec), Aaron Compton, Adam Compton, Josh Compton (Tessa), Scott Compton (Deanna), Jeremy Compton (Amy), Jessi Garvin (Josh), Joseph Compton, Kyle Compton (Ashley) and Danielle Compton; his brother-in-law James Henderson of Colorado; and his close friend Pat Savage. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
