He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alexander and Della May Everhart Freshwater; his spouse Beverly Haswell; and his siblings, William Freshwater, Raymond Freshwater, James Freshwater, Jr., Thad Freshwater, Ruth Shaffer, Susan Renner, Eleanor Renner and Grace Dessecker.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Parrish (Tom) of Marion, Barbara Davis (Mark) of Columbus and Lester L. Freshwater, Jr. (Karen) of Michigan; his grandchildren, Michael Parrish (Kerry), Lesley Conway (Kevin), Natalie Anderson (Joe), Ben Davis (Maria) and Ian Freshwater; and his stepgrandsons, Christopher Stephens (Marie) and Alexander Stephens (Maddy). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
