It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Ernest Wieland of New Philadelphia, Ohio, born in Mineral City, Ohio, who passed away on September 1, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Wieland and Ida Wieland (Martin); his siblings, Walt Wieland (Ellen) and Betty Harding (Gene); and his brother-in-law Raymond Stucky.
He is survived by: his former wife Phyllis Jean Wieland (Warrick) of New Philadelphia; his son Mitch Wieland (Cynthia); his grandson Benjamin Wieland; his stepson Norbert Slusher of Boise; and his siblings, Martha Stucky of Sugarcreek, Frederick "Fritz" Wieland (Luann) of New Philadelphia and Virginia Specht (Ed) of New Philadelphia.
