He was predeceased by: his son Dennis Hershberger; his sisters, Mattie Erb, Clara Burkholder and Mary Johnson; his great grandchild Isiah Hershberger; and his siblings-in-law, Daniel Burkholder, Nelson Lapp, Ken Johnson and Viola Hershberger.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Hershberger (Wilma), Rhoda Hershberger, Effie Miller (Eli), Miriam Beachy (Allen), Cindy Ridgway (John) of New Philadelphia and Karen Shull (Randy) of Dundee; his daughter-in-law Joyce Miller (Les) of Millersburg; his siblings, Mabel Otto (Alvin) of Tennessee, Anna Lapp of McConnelsville and Dan Hershberger of Sugarcreek; and his brother-in-law Menno Erb of Sugarcreek. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren.
