He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wheeler and Lucinda Burton (Heath). He is survived by: his wife Lucy Petrullo; his daughters, Jill Ross (Dan) of New Philadelphia, Nancy Mizer (Richard) of New Philadelphia and Maria Wheeler (Shawn Schartiger) of Westerville; and his grandchildren, Michael Denny (Jenevieve), Jessica Cannon (Jacob), Matthew Wheeler and RaeAnn Mizer. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; along with four sisters.
