It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doug J. Sopher of New Philadelphia, Ohio, born in Grove City, Pennsylvania, who passed away on May 28, 2023, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth M. Sopher; his mother-in-law Joanne Zimmerly; and his nephew Greg Sopher. He is survived by: his mother Mary O. Sopher Sopher (Montgomery) of Dover; his wife Melanie Zimmerly of New Philadelphia; his children, Vicki Simmering (Travis) of Cypress, TX, Andrew Sopher (Michaela) of Washington, D. C. and Stephanie Getz (Collin) of North Canton; his granddaughters, Quinn, Corrie, Claire Simmering and Natalie Getz; his siblings, Edward M. Sopher (Yongmi), Bill Sopher, Pamela Racketa (Stan) and Nancy McCartney (Dennis); his father-in-law Gene Zimmerly (RuthJoyce); and his sisters-in-law, Shelly Miller (Vince) and Lynne Wilson (Jon). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
