He was predeceased by: his parents, William Emerson Kennedy and Mary Elizabeth Kennedy Paden (Ferrell); his stepfather John Paden; and his sister Cheryl Tantarelli. He is survived by: his wife Lillian Kennedy; his children, Regina Willis (Jason) of Powell Point and Mitchell Kennedy (Debra) of Bolivar; his grandchildren, Zachariah Kennedy (Rachel) and Aleah Kennedy (Nathan Spencer); his stepgranddaughter Brooke Trigleth (Deke); his great grandchildren, Henry, Piper, Everett Kennedy, Anabell and Ruby McCarty; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Trey, Emma, Evan and Lydia Trigleth; and his brothers, Gary Kennedy (Judy) of Middleburg Heights and William Kennedy (Denice) of Dover. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
