He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Anthony and Katherine Elizabeth Muhs (Hahn); his son Phillip Muhs; his great grandchild Aubrey Orr; his brother Robert Muhs; and his son-in-law Gene Boone.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley I. Martin; his children, Steven Muhs of Stone Creek, Cheri Boone of Stone Creek, Jacqueline Ley (Ted) of Houston and Roger Casteel (Deidra) of Stone Creek; his grandchildren, Gustave Muhs, Levi Kaser, Nathan Boone, Sara Fanning, Renee Muhs, Miranda Ley-Bradshaw, Bethany Pace, Brooke Conner, Lucas Ley, Kristyn Orr, Kyle Casteel and Casey Casteel; his siblings, Jim Muhs (Thelma) of Illinois, Urban Muhs (Marilyn) of Illinois and Carolyn Elie (Pat) of Illinois; and his sister-in-law Audra Muhs of Texas. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory - New Philadelphia (116 2nd St NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663). A Mass was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (613 N Tuscarawas Ave, Dover, OH 44622).
