She was predeceased by: her parent Willie D. Peterson; and her siblings, Willie Charles and Willie Pearl. She is survived by: her mother Fronie Peterson (Lowery); her children, Edward Grant (Rachel) and Christina Monticelli (Scott); her grandchildren, Spencer, Alexandria, Jasmine, Xavier, Hunter, Brenden, Nakarri and Andrew; her brother Billy Ray (Mary Jo); and her niece Shara Watson. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
