He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin M. Whitmer, Sr. and Mary Whitmer (Heckman); his sister-in-law Mildred Zumbro; and his daughter-in-law Linda Immel. He is survived by: his wife Sue Lenhart Whitmer; his sons, Daniel Immel of New Philadelphia and Mark Immel of New Philadelphia; and his brother-in-law Bill Lenhart (Wendy) of Malvern.
