He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Ballentine and Nettie Ballentine (Hina); his son Jeffery Gene Ballentine; his daughter-in-law Bonnie Lancaster; and his siblings, Alice Toland, Herbert, Raymond and Bill Ballentine.
He is survived by: his wife Ginny Ballentine; his children, Connie Wilhelm (Dick) of New Philadelphia, Ben Ballentine (Bobbie) of New Philadelphia and Perry Ballentine of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Heather Edwards, Evan Brown (Shannon), B. J. Brown (Michele), Traci Gardner (Richard), Brandi Terakedis (Aris), Kristi Beach (Roy), Nicole Barousse (Josh) and Casey Ballentine; his stepgrandchildren, Eric Wilhelm, Jennifer Barkley (Chris), Chad McGlothlin (Shannon) and Christin Woods (Todd); his sister Lorena Costa; and his sister-in-law Margaret Beans of New Philadelphia. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, private family visitation and services will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with burial taking place in East Avenue Cemetery.
