He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Alexander and Edith Bertha McEwen (Ross); his wife Mary Valerie McEwen; his son Darren McEwen; and his brother Robert J. McEwen.
He is survived by: his son Alan; his daughter-in-law Diana McEwen; his grandson Jared McEwen; his sister Lynn; and his brother-in-law Joe Hunt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
