He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Curea and Anna Curea (Oltean); his wife Patricia R. Ekionak; his son-in-law Mark Collins; and his sister Elizabeth "Veta" Nicoara.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley A. Collins of Coral Springs, FL and John Curea, Jr. (Cathy) of Enon Valley, PA; his grandchildren, Marlon Pineda (Faye), Jason Curea (Mohnka Abramchuk), Candace Higbee (John), Christa Cyr (Justin) and Sarah Nottke (Austin); and his great grandchildren, Jionni, Myla, Declan and Sienna Rose.
