He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Carl" Whitlatch Sr. and Delores Cupit Whitlatch; his father-in-law Robert Talbert; and his brother-in-law David Hudnell. He is survived by: his wife Tracy Talbert Whitlatch; his children, Sara Whitlatch (Ben Carsey) and William "Bill" C. Whitlatch III (Karen); his grandchildren, Aidan, Morgan of Lancaster and Douglas Lee Whitlatch (Morgan); his children, Colton, Wren of Albany and Jessica Lee (Amy); his grandchildren, Peyton and Griffin of Canal Winchester; his sister Carla Hudnell (Larry Buell); his niece Carleen Dotson (Robert); his mother-in-law Mary Lou Talbert; his nieces and nephews, Keith Dugan (Emily), Krista Jacobs (Nick), Kelsey Jones (Seth), Alison Camechis (Brian) and Mark Christman (Ashley); and also, Carlee of Athens, Connie Dugan of Glouster and Susan Christman (Dan) of Glouster.
