She was predeceased by: her parents, John "Junior" and Geraldine Strait (Owens); her sister Nancy Conner; her son-in-law Patrick McNutt; and her brother-in-law Joe Blackford.
She is survived by: her husband James Blackford; her children, Jay Blackford (Kim) of Greenville, Jayne McNutt of Ypsilanti and Jill Benanzer (Joe) of Sidney, Ohio; and her siblings, Janet Blackford of Tipp City, Mary Blackford (Jerry) of Tipp City, Joann Didier (Kenny) of Washington State and Phil Strait (Becky) of Greenville. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
