It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet R. Abernathy of New Madison, Ohio, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janet R. Abernathy to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Graham Cross and Louise Cross (Kress); her husband Ken Abernathy; her daughters, Susan Ausbrook and Deborah Howard; her son-in-law Donald Howard; her granddaughters, Nicole Abernathy and Keesha Abernathy; and her close friends, Doris Bowers and Dora Jane Waymire.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Abernathy (Sherri) of Mesa, Larry Abernathy of New Madison, Scott Abernathy (Charlene) of Covington and Lisa Kramer of Greenville; and her grandchildren, Nathan Ausbrooks, Jessica Quick (Greg), Rachel Smith (Michael), Mandy Hileman (Dan), Jamie Abernathy, Chelsea Dickensheets (Cody), Briana Parin (Mitch), Deceena Gains, Jessica Abernathy, Jason Ignaffo and Becky Borowske (Ryan). She is also survived by her 23 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Tribute Funeral Home (1000 N Broadway St, Greenville, OH 45331). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to EverHeart Hospice, 1350 North Broadway Street, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
